What is a Video Gallery?
The Video Gallery template is a way to share videos with your audience. You can share them via content uploaded to a service (e.g., YouTube or Vimeo) or to share video content directly uploaded to your website.
Here are some simple directions to get you started:
1. You can use the "Video Gallery" Template to play videos on your app that are stored locally on a server in your organization.
Below are some details on how to use the Video Gallery template:
Ensure that you have your video ready in the following formats:
i. .mov
ii. .mpeg / .3gp
It is important to have your videos in both these formats because Apple, Android and Windows use different systems to play videos on the device.
Apple uses Quicktime, which supports .mov format only. Windows and Android use Windows Media Player and MX Player respectively, which support .mpeg/ .3gp but not .mov.
2. Upload your videos to a server, to generate a URL for your videos.
Your video URL must be in the following format:
http://example.com/uploads/test-video.mov (it must end in .mov/.mpeg/.3gp). Youtube / Vimeo URLs do not work since they convert videos on their platform to get rid of the .mov/.mpeg/.3gp extension)
3. Also create a thumbnail image that can be uploaded to the server.
This thumbnail image must end in .jpeg/.png format.
How do I Upload Videos on Websites like YouTube and Vimeo
Upload to YouTube:
To get started uploading videos on YouTube, follow the steps below:
Sign into YouTube.
Click the Upload button at the top of the page.
Select the video you'd like to upload from your computer. You can also record a video from your webcam, or create a video slideshow.
Before you start uploading the video you can chose the video privacy settings. As the video is uploading, you can add information, choose a preview picture of the video and add other things like tags.
- Make any changes you want to the video settings and information, then click Publish to finish uploading it on YouTube. You can always publish your video at a later time in your Video Manager.
You must set your video to "Public" in order to add it to your app.

How do I set up a server to host my videos?
Here are several ways to host videos for your app using a server:
1. Create a free Wordpress account
2. Setup an FTP account on any server available to you for use
Can I play videos on my app?
Yes! You can use the Video Template for videos stored locally on a server in your organization. Alternatively, you can use the Web View template to link to public videos on the web, like those on YouTube or Vimeo. To do this, simply enter the URL of the video into the template and "Save".
Why aren't my app videos playing?
The most common reason for this happening is because of entering YouTube / Vimeo URLs while creating your screen. We recommend using .mov or .mp4 video formats. Please convert your youtube/ vimeo video to .mp4/.mov and upload your video to a third-party service such as Dropbox and use the Dropbox link while creating your screen.
